Amaury Fonseca Junior, Ph.D.
Founder and CIO
Prior to founding Vision Brazil, Mr. Amaury was a founding partner and CIO of Capitânia Asset & Risk Management. Previously, he was Managing Director, Head Trader, and Treasurer for Bank of America in Brazil; and Head of Brazilian F/X and Derivatives Market Making and Head of Brazilian Fixed Income at JPMorgan. Mr. Amaury is a member of the Advisory Board of Cedar Bridge Partners, a private equity firm focused on the Middle East and North Africa regions, and holds seats in the Board of Directors of several companies.
Mr. Amaury holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master's degree, both from PUC-RJ, and also a Ph.D. from MIT in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics.
Founder and Portfolio Manager
Prior to founding Vision Brazil, Mr. Fabio was a founding partner of Capitânia Asset & Risk Management. Previously, he headed the Derivatives Trading Desk of Bank of America in Brazil, including the market-making desks for F/X options, interest rate options and cross-currency swaps. Prior to Bank of America, he worked for two years at Banco Patrimônio (subsidiary of Salomon Brothers), leading the derivatives and proprietary trading desks. Prior to that, he worked six years for Chase Manhattan in the derivatives trading desk.
Mr. Fabio holds a bachelor's degree in Business School from FGV in São Paulo, a master’s degree in Financial Mathematics from Universidade de São Paulo, and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland.
Prior to joining Vision Brazil, Mr. Chow was a partner and portfolio manager at Jera Capital overseeing private investments and wealth management. Previously, an equities and multi-strategy portfolio manager at Necton Investimentos (BTG Pactual), also responsible for product distribution. Prior to that, he was part of the Latin America Private Equity group at Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Chow holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Escola Politécnica - USP and an MBA in Economics and Analytical Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Partner and CFO
Currently Vision Brazil’s CFO, Mr. Fernando had been directly involved since 2007 with administrative management of agricultural production operations, farmlands and activities related to the livestock sector. He was also the CFO for several Vision's portfolio companies. Previously, he was the Treasurer of Perdigão Agroindustrial S.A. (current BRF S.A.) for 3 years. He also has more than 13 years of experience in the financial market at J.P. Morgan, Chase Manhattan and The First National Bank of Boston.
Mr. Fernando holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Escola Politécnica - USP, and a post-grad degree in Business Administration from FGV.
Partner and Portfolio Manager
Prior to joining Vision Brazil, Mr. Primo was the senior director responsible for credit recovery operations at Banco Santander. In a career spanning over 30 years in the financial market, he has also held positions of Director of Rede Comercial de Agências, Director of the Agribusiness Operations, and Director of Structured Operations for BNDES financing at Banespa – Banco do Estado de São Paulo. Also, he is a member of the São Paulo Branch of the Brazilian Bar Association.
Mr. Primo holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting and a JD from Universidade Católica de Santos – SP, with specialization in finance from Universidade de São Paulo. He also holds an MBA degree from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
